This week has been great.. Haha i am in a huuge hurry! So sorry..
Ha
i heard a cool analogy this week from a district leader in the zone..
He said.. "our testimonies have to be like our bones.. They have to be
so imbedded under our skin, that without them, we would have no
purpose!" Our bones gives our body purpose, just like when we get a
testimony of the church, it gives our lives purpose! :)
Anyways.. I want to share with you a cool experience! So our mission
President came out and visited people with us and it was such an
awesome night! We are teaching this girl named Chelsea.. And she has
been one of the greatest people to teach. She is so prepared by God, she
is facing opposition from her family and blowing through it like its
nothing! We taught her the plan of salvation with our mission president,
and the spirit was so strong.. It answered so many questions that she
had. It brought so much peace to her to know these simple truths which
most of us reading this email have been so lucky to have for our whole
lives! She wants to be baptized at the end of this month and so we're
pretty excited for that! Its going to be awesome! I loved it..
I've come to the realization that there are 2 types of churches
really.. Churches that will adapt to what the people want and what the
people like, and then there is the church that will make the people
change so they can improve the quality of their life.. Haha Christ asked
us to "come unto him and be transformed." I love it so much. We all are
being changed and transformed by this church so we can become what God
needs us to be.
I'm sorry this is so short.. We've got things that we've got to do today. I love you all! :)
Bishop Shields thanks for the email last week! I appreciate them very much!
Love Elder Russell
